Distance Learning Won't Keep Us Apart!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!

2Sa is the first class to win the Teamwork Trophy from the coaches! Classes received points for working together to demonstrate Panther PRIDE (patience, respect, integrity, determination, and excellence). Great job, 2Sa!!

Dance-a-thon

Thank you to all who participated or donated to the Dance-a-thon! Reed Elementary School raised $16,442 towards our new playground! Way to go Reed Panthers! We had so much fun dancing at our assembly today and watching Dr. Schreiner get sprayed with silly string by Mrs. Hughes's first grade class.

Writing

Today we worked with partners to revise our realistic fiction stories. We discussed that revise means to make our story better by adding important information, cutting parts we don't need, and elaborating with more details.

Books! Books! Books!

We are so excited about our brand new books from Scholastic! Did you know every Scholastic book order placed using our class code is eligible for points? Those points go towards free books for our classroom library. Our newest additions are My Weirder-est School #1-12, The Bad Guys #1-8, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, The Doctor With An Eye for Eyes, Hidden Figures, Crankenstein Valentine, and Say Something! We cannot wait to enjoy reading these stories while also learning more about the world around us. HAPPY READING!

2Sa Businesses

As we finished our social studies unit "What Bring Changes to a Neighborhood" we worked in groups to create businesses that would make changes in our classroom. We sold books, bookmarks, tickets to a theater show, finger puppets, rulers, school tools, and holiday decorations. Even though we learned a lot, we had a ton of fun doing it!

Meet Our New Friend in 2SA

Meet Ellie, our new friend in 2Sa! Ellie is an Asian elephant that was adopted for our class by Fiona. Each student will have the opportunity to take Ellie home for the weekend and journal about the fun things they do together. So glad to have you, Ellie!
