Reading - Students are asked to read 20 minutes EACH night and record it in their Assignment Notebook. Each week they will also have an assignment in their GREEN Literacy Log. They will alternate between 2 activities: One week reading a passage and answering comprehension questions, and the next week writing me a friendly letter about a book they are reading at home. On Tuesdays, the spelling homework will replace the nightly reading.
Spelling - Students will have spelling homework on Tuesday evenings to be returned on Wednesday. We will have our spelling test on Thursdays and pretest on Fridays.
Math - Students are asked to practice their math at home for 10 minutes each night (Matter of Facts books, MobyMax, flash cards, iPad apps, computer games, etc.). Occasionally students will have a math practice worksheet, which will be noted in your child's yellow Assignment Notebook.
Science/Social Studies - Students may sometimes have a Social Studies/Science activity to complete at home based on our current unit of study.
